I am just putting in the finishing touches to my Flanker model, but I as I was settling down to paint the engine nozzles, I noticed something from some Flanker pics of mine.
Just look at these 2 pics -

2(this is the scheme that I am painting mine)
I noticed that there is a tint of metallic blue on certain areas. Is this just some reflecting sun light or is it actually metallic blue?
Cheers & thanks in advance,
WD.

I think it's likely the heat effect on the titanium panels?
This effect could be obtained in model form by using clear colours, such as Tamiya clear blue. There are also quite a few other interesting colours going on there. I have some paint for these sort of effect, called Tensochrom, made by Lifecolor (:-)

Tensochrom is a range of paints by Lifcolor to add effects like the colours found around jet exhausts. There are six paints in the set (I think there might be different sets?) including oil and fuel spills.
If you would like I can see about getting a picture?
