Gentlemen,

I am looking for any and all photos of the last 12 US Marine Corps RF-4B's. All had the large main wheels, and wing bulge of the F-4J.

I need to verify the power plants used, as well as antenna arrangements for an article I'm working on using the Black Box RF-4 conversion.

I did a search on Google and the photos I found of a couple of these aircraft aren't clear enough to get all of the info I need.

The BuNo's of the aircraft are as follows:

153114

153115

157342

157343

157344

157345

157346

157347

157348

157349 - round profile nose

157350 - round profile nose

157351 - round profile nose

As always, Thank you,

Dave

Dave,

My ex-brother-in-law was a RIO with VMFP-3 when they stood down. Wish I could find some of the air-to-air video he shot. Sorry I can't be of help.

According to a post by Joe Baugher on RAM, the last 12 used the same engines as the first 34, even though they also had the thicker wings and the larger wheels. According to this thread on RMS they were re-engined in 1987 to take J79-10s.

There are photos of USMC RF-4B online, one of which is on your list.

The Marine Corps F-4 Phantom Registry has a page on the RF-4B that may help with pictures.

157350 has her own site, with pictures from 1971, 1988, 1989 and 1990 on. It also has some text.

A final site that may help is McDonnell Douglas RF-4B Phantom II Systems & Modifications.

Cheers,
Linz
