Here i am again with my beaufighter camo pattern Questions.

I know the italian Regia aeronautica captured a Beaufighter and overpainted it with light green.

Does anybody know some more captured Beau's?

I've found a picture of a Beaufighter Mk 1c, T4887. It was captured by the Italians in January 1942 on its way to Malta. It was painted in Dark Earth/Mid-Stone/Azure Blue but had the British national markings painted out and Regia Aeronautica markings applied to the wings. it also had the white cross applied to the tail, white fuselage band and received the new serial 'MM4887'. I don't know if this is the same aircraft that you are talking about that was maybe re-painted later on. I've also read that the secret German outfit, KG200 had a Beaufighter, but I can't give you any more details about that I'm afraid.

Hope that this is of some use to you,

J.P.

Hi Quinten,
I'm afraid I can't help with any details on captured Beaus, cos I don't do captured machines. I just wanted to welcome Harri to Armorama.

You might want to check out this website
http://www.luftwaffe-experten.co.uk/beuteflugzeuge.html
It has a Beau listed.
