Hi .
Did any squadron use Spitfire V in Battle for Britain? I'm asking because I'd like to enlist to Battle for Britain Campaign and I'm not sure if my model will be proper for it.

The Spit V didn't enter production until 1941, so the BofB was well over before it entered service.

If we had had the Mk V during the Battle of Britain, there might not have been any Luftwaffe left Cannon armament on Sptfires was tried but there were problems with keeping the bigger guns riggid in their mounts. This lead to stoppages after a couple of rounds.

If you're looking to build a Spit for the BoB I'd look for a Spit 1A .
But if you want to build the work horse and savior of brittan, I'd go with the oft over looked Hawker Hurricane

IF you do do a Hurricane Mk. 1 from the battle of britain, let me know. I have some decals for some Polish Squadrons from that time that you can have.
