Is this a good kit? Any pitfalls, warnings, etc?

Hi Bud,
having built the kit a few years back (at least 10)...it builds up pretty well, but according to reviews I read at the time in FSM it is unfortunately inaccurate in a number of areas.
It looked pretty good on my shelf...
Cheers

The Fujimi MiG-29 - like the Hasegawa one - was designed prior to any solid information was released on the MiG-29. It has both dimension and shape problems. Go for Airfix or Italeri if you want a really accurate Fulcrum in this scale.

The Fujimi kit though goes together well though.

Cheers,

Hi Linz and Kraftstoff! Dimensions are not a problem. I'm not a bolt counter (yet). As long as it looks good on the shelf then that's fine by me. This is the kit with the acrobatic team decals and the colors will make up for all the innaccuracies. I just hope that my contact in Japan can get me one of these. Fujimis are rare in the Philippines.

Linz: Is the Italeri kit a good buy? I've been bitten once by their Comanche and I have to think thrice before getting any kit from them .

Thanks!

If I remember well, the shape of the nose is wrong and it's visible, just as with the hasegawa kit.

The MIG-29 and the UB kit are pretty nice. Yes there is a nose problem, but it can be worked out with a little reshapeing.
The Fujimi and Hasagewa kits are both good quality. The Hobbycraft kit is also good.

Give them a try, Good luck
