Hello chaps!
As some of you might have wondered, here's the Focke-Wulf I have the chance of flying in the summer time.
She's a Piaggio P.149D built under license in Germany, this particular one is S/N 167 and was built in 1959. Power comes from a BMW-Lycoming GO-480-B1A6 of 275HP and she has room for 4 persons.
Roles were training, aerobatics, navigation and hack.
She's painted as a Fw 190A-3, but all the crosses, numbers and stencils are authentic, we reproduced what we found on the aircraft when we bought it.

About 200. I put around 50 on her each summer.
We don't fly in the winter, it's too hard on the engine.

Thanks.
The eagle is taken from the one 9, III/JG2 used during the war, and which is also used by Squadron.
And a Fw 190 would be a lot more expensive to operate!

Very cool Oliver. Unique for a civilian aircraft. How long did it take you to apply that scheme? Wingman out.

That is a great looking aircraft and boy am I jealous :-)
Thanks for sharing some pics. I was really interested in seeing what you fly.
Since you are into scale modeling....have you made your own scale model of it yet? That would be a fun one to do.
That would be a great addition for some walkaround and interior pics!
Good modeling and great flying

Thanks guys.
-wingman : the painter took about 2 months to strip the plane, then get her painted. After that it was a good 5 months of work to ger her airworthy.
Rebuilding real planes is a very long and tedious process. Not unlike a short run kit! :-)
-Wad_ware : nope, no model yet. I'm not a great scratchbuilder, so I prefer to wax and polish instead! This summer, I'll rig up a good walk-around for you guys.

Well, I'm sorry, but that's a Focke-Wulf FwP.149D, built in Bremen in 1959, 167th to come out of the line.
Registered and flown in Canada since 2000.
Not all Focke-Wulfs were mean sods you know!!
And be respectful of my mistress, will ya?
