Hey all.

I was over on Hobbylinc.com and saw a 1/48 scale B-1B Lancer. I couldn't believe it. A B1 in 1/48 scale, but then what do you expect for around $95. Anybody else seen this bird?

I suspect that's the old Revell B-1B that was released about 1986 or 1987. The Detail & Scale series of books has a good review of the kit which if IRRC has some accuracy issues. But it does look pretty impressive built up.
I had one back about the time it came out.

I've got the Revell kit sitting my stash right now, actually. Huge, just plain huge (no pun intended!). I swear that the box is the largest kit box I've ever seen.

I've heard of some accuracy issues. Something with the engines I believe. However, I'm not too picky.

It's the biggest injection-moulded kit ever made.

For a few grins and giggles, I got mine out of the stash today and took a couple of pics.

The box itself - actually shipped to me in the original shipping box from Revell. I can't imagine finding another box big enough!

Compared to a 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair!

A friend of mine started to build one but I guess he was just too busy to finish it.

Christ, that is huge. You would need your own aircraft hanger to store it in :-) :-)

wow, big kit looks very fun to build though someone here wanna start theirs so we can get some progress pics :-)
