Just got my latest issue of FSM and read about the retooled Buffalo Pacific Theater .I've got to admit this is one kit that really looks interesting ,so my questions are ,is it out yet and has anyone built it?

I have it but have not built it. Looks good. Haven't fit any pieces together but it looks very promising.

I think Classic Airframes are bringing out a new tool Buffalo. Tamiya have one but it's an old tool, are they re-tooling? Trumpeter are doing a 1/32 scale version I think.

Hi Mal
I checked out this kit the other day. It's the old Tamiya kit, alright - it's still got the somewhat odd mix of raised and engraved panel lines. Nevertheless, it's always been a very nice kit.
When this was first released in the 1970s, it included parts for US, Dutch and RAF aircraft. In their wisdom Tamiya deleted the Dutch and RAF options when they re-released the kit about 12 years ago.
This release sees them reinstate the missing parts and it once more has decals for Dutch and RAF aircraft - but now at the expense of the US version. Whether this counts as a "re-tool" is open to debate...
All the best
