Ok, I'm trying to break a seven-year drought by FINALLY finishing a plane... my choice for this attempt is the Tamiya 1/48th P-47D Bubbletop.

Here's the cockpit (sans the gun sight which I need to add), the lighting washes out some of the shading but you get the idea. All comments welcome.

Nate:

Who would have thunk it. Both a figure guy and a wingy-thingy guy. Your cockpit looks very good! Are you going to gloss coat the dial faces to make them look glassy? Can't wait to see the exterior. Are you using kit decals or others? Keep us posted.

I also imagine you're putting a figure in the cockpit. Afterall, you are a figure painter at heart.

Very good Nate, is the seat belt home made?
In what month do you expect to be entering this in the AMOM?

Thanks guys;
Who knows when I'll have this rascal done, but the kit really does seem to fit nicely and has some really nice detail.
The biggest potential roadblock I see -- or downfall -- will be painting the anti-glare panel. But I'm not even close to thinking about that yet.

Hi Nathan. Sweet. Great job. I just built two of these Jugs for my Wolfpack dio. Isn't the cockpit detail OUTSTANDING? Wingman out.

CSCH:
It's Testors "Interior Green." The paint in the photo is much greener and brighter than in person.

Hi Nate

That is looking like a fantastic build in the making!

I don't know... some people just aren't satisfied... GREAT figure builders... they have to go and build beautiful aircraft too!... mumble...grumble...

Stunning stuff! Keep us up to date.
