It looks god so far. What brand is the kit, Accurate Miniatures ? I Believe itīs not the Hasegawa.
Did you used aftermarket sets (PE) for the ailerons ?
Nice job, I like very much the paint job and weathering.

thanks for the kind words guys!! yes, this is the Accurate Miniatures kit, a great kit to say the least. lots of flash to sand, but overall no complaints really. no aftermarket stuff, she's OOB. no need for anything aftermarket except maybe some PE seat harness's, and i bet the PE dive flaps would be cool. the kit provides decals for the seat belts...........YUCK!!! later.

Hi Saltydog
Nice job! I really like the faded, patchy paint.
When you say there's lots of flash - is this an original or re-release? I nabbed the "Midway" SBD-2 version for a bargain price a week or two back and it does have more flash than the first issue SBD-5.
All the best

you know Merlin, i don't really know the answer to your question! we have a store here local, well, actually its a chain of stores, called Hobby Lobby. once in a while they have 1/2 off plastic models sales, and i jump all over them. i got this kit for 1/2 price and don't really know how to tell what "run" it is. you could enlighten me and maybe i could tell ya. thanks for the kind words. later.

As with all of your builds - It looks awesome! I, too, really like the weathering you have done. I hope you enter in the model of the month thread.
Hope all is well.

model of the month? where?
Chris,
I see that you found the thread discussing the model of the month. Here is the link for this month's entries...
Model of the Month, March
Are you aware that last month we had people nominate builds instead entering their own? Anyway, someone nominated your p-51. It did quite well (2nd place I think)
Anyway hope some of your builds find their way into the contests...

Love the weathering Chris, superbly done. You must enter something in the MOM. As the galleries down I'm going to leave it open for entries up to, and including the 25th.
Yes your P-51 came second in the first MOM and in my opinion should have come first.
