Francois Buis (fbuis) has sent us a great review of Model USA''s 1/48 scale Cessna Bird Dog. This is a full-build, with plenty of tips for those tackling this detailed, but tricky little kit.

Many thanks for your comments, mates
Following an email I received from Staff_Jim for the french forum Franco'rama, I try to write this first review with a great help of Rowan.
I built this Bird Dog following an idea of Garry Beebe: "Flattops campaign update." ( Posted: Thursday, March 17, 2005), Indeed, I would like to make a surprise to Garry about the true story of a VNAF aircraft "first desk landing" (the vietnamese pilot was not an aeronaval airman) on 30th avril 1975 on the USS Midway aircraft carrier but Garry is gone...
Here are some pictures of Major Bung Ly of the VNAF with his Bird Dog without tail hook :
And the story about this airman in the Frequent Wind Operation in Vietnam in 1975 :
Rear Admiral Chambers
USS Midway CV-41 - Sailor web site

When I built this kit I found the wings had a pronounced droop to them. But if you get the Verlinden photo-etch kit for it it does inhance the overall appearance and detail.

Probuilder.
Many thanks for your advice on the Bird Dog's wings, as Verlinden stuff, my LHS don't sell it, I am looking for this one.
For the next built, I will add some PE parts.
