This is Tamiya's 1/48th P-47D Bubbletop in progress. The idea of doing a plane is an experiement, but within that experiment I'm also trying to use Liquid Paper (White Out, etc) as a gap filler. Any thoughts on how this will work with a NMF?

I've used White Out/Liquid Paper with some success. Works well for thin, shallow gaps. Painting over it shouldn't be a problem as it doesn't seem to really absorb paint. Depending on what you use for your NMF, you might be priming over it anyways.
The build looks great so far. Can't wait to see more...

Hi there
Nice job on the P-47! That's going to look sweeeeet!
Tipp-ex (one of the brand names in Europe for correction fluid) is available in two forms - Rapid and Aqua.
Rapid can be thinned / removed with isopropyl alchohol, while Aqua is water soluble - as its name suggests.
Both are handy for filling small gaps, but have no structual strength and shouldn't be used on cracks which could flex.
Another useful, non destructive, filler is Vallejo 400 acrylic putty.
All the best
