I got this in a box of started kits and thought I would finish it out. Monograms P-47 Jug, Razorback. Nice kit for its age. I Added the antenna wires and thinned the trailing edges of the wings. The blast tubes over the .50's had been snapped off so I replaced them with styrene tube and drilled out the ends. The kit decals were problimatic as they kept crackinbg and coming apart, but I managed to get them all on without too much trouble. Just thought I'd share. "Q"

Francois, thanks for the nice words. I have three more that were also semi-started that I plan on completing. You can look for those in the future. Thanks again. "Q"

Hey Matt-
Very nicely done! I know Mal has a special place in his heart for Spit's, but I think he'd agree with me on this one when i say "you just can't have to many jugs!" :-) :-) :-)
It looks great... thanks for sharing!

Oh, on another note... I noticed that you mentioned the decals were a little brittle... Testor's sells some stuff called Decal Bonder (a rattle can spray "paint": part # 9200). You use it to seal custom decals, but it also works great on older decals that have become a little brittle. If you ask me it's worth the few bucks even if you don't make your own decals.
CHEERS!!!!

Scott, you're correct, or are we talking about something else (or is that just English humour? You would still be correct )
Seriously, a wonderful Jug and one of my favourite WWII fighters. It is true that "you just can't have to many Spitfires", it is also true that I can't get enough of models like this

Scott thanks for the info on the decals bonder stuff. Will definately look into it. Thanks also for the kind words. I was trying to get a group build together for just some of the older Monogram kits. Jugs, Lightnings, Warhawks, Spits, etc. Not the Hasegawa re-boxes, the older stuff. Strictly out of the box. Didn't have too many interested partys, so I cracked this one out anyway. I have three or four more to do as well. Gotta love the old stuff. Its what I cut my teeth on. Thanks again to all. "Q"

Hey Matt-
I remember you posting that query about a GB for those Monogram kits... I plan of building my Jug sometime in the middle of next month (finishing up grad school right now and things are getting hectic). It's a 1/72 Revell kit, but i think it qualifies as a kindred spirit to your old monogram kits.
Anywho... I'll share pic's as soon as I get some hehe.
Oh, and Mal-
When I say you can't have too many jugs... believe me - all pun's were intended! :-) :-) :-)
Cheers!
