A project that has been lying around half finished for a while, but now have made a lot of progres. Still some gaps to fill, othervise finished the build.
Still undecided weather I should do a blue Malta Spitfire or a RAAF Spitfire.
Comments and suggestions are very welcome!

And I have clear photos of Spitfires on Malta with sand filter installed.
Have also checked Osprey's Spitfre MKV aces, and on the photos there almost every Malta based aircraft has the sand filter.

Thomas, would concur with that 100%. In fact, apart from the PRs, I haven't seen a single pic of a Spitire WITHOUT the tropcal filter....Jim

Lovely, makes me almost want to build a wingy thingy. Almost. Although I did build that Tamiya zero not so long ago. Might be nearly time I did another. I like the sand filter. :-)

I actually thought you were looking for input/suggestions, when in fact it is obvious this was just a "lookie at what I did".
I was looking for input and suggestions, but when you say that the model is wrong for what I'm planing, and I know it's not I feel free to defend my self.
Not that I want to start a fight or anything, but I feel that comments like the ones you just made don't belong here at Armorama.

Hi Thomas,
Looking forward to seeing the end result.
The Spitfire has always been my favourate plane and it's nice to see one with the sand filter which I'd say was more than required in hot and dusty Malta.
I'd say do it RAF, but then I'm English :-)
All the best

Hi Thomas
I know you mention there are some gaps to fill, but I'm presuming the wings are only dry fitted to the fuselage - there's quite a large step as well as the gap.
I'd say do the Malta blue... much more unusual.
Looking forward to seeing the finished model.
All the best

I'm affraid that the wings are permanently super-glued... As I stated in my first post, this is an OLD project, so I don't know why I didn't bother back then to get a better fit before gluing everything in place. Only thing to do now is to fill everything and hope that I can make a decent apparence of it all...

Hi Thomas
That's a real shame, because it looks like you did a very neat job on the rest of the seams when you started the build.
If it's super-glue, you could always try some de-bonder on the wing roots, becuae (unlike cement) it won't have damaged the plastic...
