Hello all you happy model builders...

Does True Details, or any other company make canopy masks for a 1/72 scale Hasegawa He111 H-6? I really, really, really, hope that they do. I don't want to do it with parafilm for all those windows...... :-) :-)

Yes, Eduard makes a set of masks for the 1/72 Hasegawa kit. It is item # CX 003, and can be found on this page:
http://www.eduard.cz/products/list.php?name=He+111&type=&pgroup=&scale=&buy_message_name=empty&buy_message_pieces=nothing&product_month=&product_year=&catalogue_nb=&page_start=10&switch_page.x=6&switch_page.y=8
If you click on the item, a box will open. Click "Instruction Sheet," and you can see what is included. You need Adobe Acrobat to open the five pages. You'll also need liquid mask (white glue will work) for the compound curve areas (like the gun portion of the nose).

Hope this helps !

Penny,

In the past for an aircraft mask I used Bare Metal Foil. It works great, conforms to every surface. just burnish it with a flat tooth pick and then trim with a new x-acto blade and you're ready. Just hit the canopy with some Novus before the foil and then use the cleaner for any adhesive that might be left behind.
Much better than parafilm and it won't pull up or leak.

try it you'll love it!

saw your post, and i just had to tell you, that once i masked an H-111 with teeny strips of tape ( four to EACH window) with liquid masking to fill in, took me over a week, i sprayed the thing, took off all my hard work, to realise that i should have sprayed the interior colour over the windows first! cos its nose is all glass you can see it has the same demarcation and colour scheme on the inside. im currently waiting for a set of masks for a H-177 and i think they must be the best invention ever

Hi Penny,

Use Parafilm, you know you want to :-) Sorry couldn't resist. It is quite relaxing though, or am I just a masochist?
