Cheers, mates.
I promised to show some pics of newly finished Focke Wulf. So here's my butcher bird:
Actually, it's not finished yet. I still have to touch up the gun smoke stain on the belly and weather the tires. But basically, it's done.
Built straight from the box (dragon's kit) with the addition of a stratch-built pitot tube (made from a needle; I broke off the original), one inner-wing gun tube (I broke that one too), rear belly antenna (the PE part flew to the carpet god) and the wire that connects to the headrest in the canopy.
What do you think? Does the winter camouflage look right? All comments are welcome, as always.

This bird turned out awesome. I really like the winter camo, and 05sultan youd be surprised on how far that gas leaks. This makes me want to do a warbird.

Very nice.
Exhaust stains are fine, don't clean an aircraft and see how far back they go.
The single PT-6A-114A on my Cessna 208 makes a nice long brown/grey stain on the belly, all the way to the tail!

Good to hear those long exhaust stains really do exist. When I was about ready, I remembered that there was an exhaust on the belly of the plane as well. I then got a litlle carried away and the stain goes half-way to the tail.
And thanks for your comments

after your problems with decaling, isnt it a good feeling when you have a nicely finished kit, despite all the trauma. the last 190 i built was in 1980, but i can see one finding its way onto my bench sometime soon. nice job eetu

No, I didn't even remember that one when I got this finished. Are you sure it's not too late? I noticed that there's already the voting thread for MOM april. I'll take some better pics against a white background and enter the next MOM.

Hi Eetu
Great to see your '190 finished and looking so good after all your battles with the decals!
Yes - it's too late to enter this month's MoM - voting's started - but there's always next month...
All the best

When I went to the annual Finnish model expo last weekend (check out some of the pics I took. See the thread in the general modeling area), IPMS Finland had a place where they built models to show how it's done, and also to share some of their modeling wisdom. I asked them about this kind of behaviour with micro sol. They believed that it may have been because of too much micro sol.
