heres my 108, its a 1/72 heller kit, with extratech a/m, the camo was done by my aztec 470, with a brand new fine line nozzle, and it works like a dream with my new (well bought at telford last year) compressor

Hi Phil
That is some really neat mottle spraying! It'd look good on a 1/48 scale kit. The crosses are unusual... a bit like those applied to some Italian aircraft after the Armistice. Are they the kit items? Also, are you going to apply Swastikas?
All the best

Hi Phil-
Nice job. You've done a great job masking the canopy... in that scale thats no small feat.
You paint job looks sweet too. Thanks for sharing!

thanks for your comments, i only bought this kit to practise mottling but then i picked up the a/m parts, and it went from a "throw together to paint" to somthing a bit more special. all the decals on it now are the kit ones, i actually forgot to put swasticas on,ive got a few in my spare decal box. masking the canopy on this kit wasnt too bad, the glazing panels are fairly big, and have mostly straight edges, and what i did was put four thin strips around the edge of each widow then fill in with maskol
cheers phil

Very nice, Bill. I had to double check the post to make sure it was 1/72 and not 1/48, cool. Well done mate

Nice job, Phil !
The mottle looks great, especially for 1/72. I like the dropped elevators. Were they separate or did you do some cutting? The PE instrument panel looks good. The canopy appears pretty thick in that pic, but you can't tell on the finished pics. It seems pretty clear.
Well done !

hi guys! just as i was about to reply to your comments i had major computer probs, and have only just got back on t'internet.i just like to say that everyones positive comments really mean a lot to me, especially from people who inspire and help me to build stuff to a nice standard i.e the dials i glazed using holdfasts method of brushing kleer over the back, seeing pixillaters models gave me a push to have a go at a mottle scheme. as for the elevators, on the box art they are dropped, so i just copied that.
its nice to be back in the fold

The airbrushing looks really good, do you plan to add some more weathering.

I've got one in semi complete state and had a go at the flying surfaces. They are all moulded in neutral setting on the wing but as the plastic is not overly thick, it is quite straightforward to cut them out and reposition them - something I do on a lot of my models as it makes them look a bit more candid. (Was having a go at the Italeri Gotha 242 glider last night and have managed to seperate the ailerons and flaps successfully on one wing)
