I don't build anything but AFV's but I have decided to build Pop an A-7 Corsair for his birthday and was wondering what you guys think I should get. It will probably be out of the box except for possibly AM decals. It holds special significance for him because he worked on the many developmental stages of the avionics and radar systems for the aircraft while he worked at LTV through the late 60's and on into the 70's. Oh, I almost forget I want it 1/48th scale.

Andrew,
Hasagewa makes 5 A-7 Corsairs in 1/48 scale. Prices range from $27-$30. I think, IMHO, Hasagewa makes the best aircraft. They fit well and have great detail. Monograms old A-7 was good, but needed alot of filler around the intake. Go to Great Models Webstore and search for A-7 Corsair, kits and decals galore! HTH.

Tamiya make some wonderfull Corsair models in 1/48. Here's my F4U-1 "Birdcage", this can be built as a -2 with radar. They do other veriants as well, -1A, -1D and others.
This is built OOB, with aftermarket decals. Only antenna wire and PE seat belts added.
