hi there,...here's my version of the SBD Dauntless from hasegawa 1/48 scale. a straight from the box build. the kit's perforated flaps and dive brakes were plain and simple. the extra work i made was drilling them with a pin vise. decals starting to show age which added up to weathering. might redo it in the future. the moveble canopy (birdcage) was thick so i removed one part to conformed with the plane silohuette. stacking them together made the plane out of proportion. hope you like it.

Very nice, I like the weathering.
What did you think about the cockpit? Aparently it isn't very accurate and I'm considering getting the new Aires one. This will but the kit into the same price bracket as an Accurate Minitures Dauntless (which I intend to get as well).

well..this kit is your basic aircraft with simple details..i have the accurate miniature kit which i keep for future project. that is..if i feel like doing a 'next level' aircraft modelling. the more details the better. that's why i started with basic and simple models..though less detailed and accurate..it's a good starter.

That's a lot of kills for a bomber.
