Here are a couple pics of my completed 1/48 scale Monogram Me 262.

I painted this model in various shades of AlcladII on different panels and then brush painted dark gray on all the panel lines.
When the paint was dry I sprayed on a thin coat of RLM 82 which allowed the panel lines to barely show through, after the markings were put on I lightly sanded off some of the paint where the pilot and ground crew might have worn off the paint if the a/c had been used operationally.
I tried to copy the camouflage that was applied to very late production Me 262's which were sometimes delivered to the fighting units in bare metal and it was up to the ground crews to apply their own camouflage.
Such Me 262's were often painted on uppersurfaces only, undersurfaces were left in bare metal.

JV 44 operated at least a couple Me 262's that were given only a partial camouflage, and ''Black X'' W.Nr. 500200 now in the Australian War Memorial Museum also has a partial camouflage paint job.

Hi Les

That looks great! Proof that Monogram's old bird can still stand up against the latest kits.

I like the X-4s under wings and the "panelled" look you've got by sanding away the paint. In the second pic in particular, it really gives the impression of the aircraft's structure showing under uneven panelling.

All the best

Yeah same here, I like the effects of the paint. The pre-shading also a great job. About what year (not the kit) would this be from. Well done Les

Nice build. As already stated, proof that Monogram still has some good kits out there. "Q"

Thank you Rowan, Joe, ''Q'', and Frank!

Joe,
The 262 is finished in markings and camouflage that would have been likely used had the war dragged on later into 1945.

LK

Great job, very realistic.
You've got to love the look on the 262 (my favorite of WW2).

Thanks NEO!

I agree, the Me 262 is the best looking German WWII a/c.
The Do 335 was good looking too but the 262 had more graceful lines.
