This might be a retarded question, but I am building a 1/72 Polikarpov PO-2 biplane (my 3rd attempt at aircraft) and was wondering in what order to paint it (before or after putting up all the rigging) since the belly and underside of the upper wing are pale blue while the rest is camo of some sort. I am using .006 and .012 brass rod for the rigging and don't want to face a nightmare mask job...any help would be great!!! DREW

Hi Drew!

I'm not a specialist but I can recommend you this:
1- paint the fuselage+underwing and the upper wing separatly
2- do the rigging on the underwing
3- glue the upper wing
4- do the final rigging

This ist NOT an universal way to achieve a biplane. There are many ways, depending on various techniques. Some modellers are drilling holes in the wings to place the rigging, some not etc...
You can take a look at the "two wings and a prayer campaign" "two wing and a prayer" and enlist with your PO-2! Some picture posts would also help!
