In the near future i is planned to build a plane , because i recently bought a nice 1:48 scale group of Greman pilots by Dragon .
I'm intended to make a Diorama with a Ju-88 together with these figures .

I'll keep you posted..

Grtz

Well, took a look at my Ju-88, and am still recovering from the shock !

All parts are off the sprues. No numbering available. I was forced to sit down, and mark off the part numbers in pencil while referring to the instruction sheet. Thank heavens for the sheet, or I think I would have been absolutely lost!

I then compared the panel lines to the references that I have, and got a bigger jolt. The lines have rivets in paralle with them, and are absolutely incorrect. Moereover, the dolt who started earlier on this kit has joined up some sections already, and seems to have literally jumped around from step to step without any planning whatsoever. The engine areas on the wings are just not matching up, with gaps of about 2-3 mm on an average.

Overall, a doggy mess of a kit. Looks like I will have a lot of sanding, filing, filling and rescribing to do. Sigh !

More laterz...

BP.

Hi Penpen,

My kit is a reboxed MPC Ju 88 A-4. It says MPC(Profile).

Also, looking at the yellowing instruction sheet gives me a feeling that this is most likely a kit from the 70's or 80's.

I had got it darn cheap at Ebay, as part of a 6 Luftwaffe Set. Thought I had a good deal, but looks like I got suckered !

Anyway, I'll look upon this as an opportunity to learn rescribing and sanding . Nothing like a kit like this to bring out the inventor in you...!

Cheers,
BP.

Well, 13 days gone, and nothing has happened !

I just haven't had the time to start on my kit. Had kept all refs ready, but the office load has just gone up by 150%, so I haven't been able to make any progress at all. Also, the AMS syndrome seems to be setting in!

Hope to get cracking on the model by this weekend. If the AMS still persists, will most likely go and build a Harley motorcycle kit, just for getting back into the hobby than anything else.

What about the rest? Hope they are hard at work ;P on their models...

Cheers,
BP.

Well folks, here is the update. Going at the speed of an arthritic snail, but there you have it ... :-)!

1. Sanded off all raised panel lines and rivets.
2. Drew in new panel lines with a 0.5 mm pencil.
3. Started off scribing the panel lines.
4. Masked off the canopy parts with my patent 3M tape method ...
5. Masked off the wheels for painting. Need to scribe the tread patterns next..

Cheers,
BP.

Cool ! When can we see some pics? I've heard that the PM Ju-88 looks superb, and I've seen the box pics. I'm really interested in seeing what you made of the kit...
