I was thinking.
Armor gets 3 in 1 kits from Dragon.Would a similar idea "fly" for aircraft?
I would personally buy a B-24 kit which covered,B-24D,J.and PB4Y with the Erco nose turret.
Anyone else have requests?

Alan, look no further than Tamiya's 1/48 "Jugs", superb.
For me it has to be ground equipment plus standing/resting pilots and working and/or relaxing ground crew. Even one or two pieces in kits would allow great dios to be built, without recourse to seperate kits, (Not that you can get much anyway), similar to Airfix's tractor and bomb trolly, in their 1/72 Stirling kit.

Hi there

Well, they used to do that in the good old days... and then the marketing guys realised they could make much more money by selling separate kits! :-)

So much for progress...

All the best

I liked the OLD MPC / Airfix kits with ground and flight crews plus an occasional piece of ground support equipment -- But I think 3 in 1 for Aircraft is a little "over the top".

Some of the Airfix kits did include parts to build 2 or 3 Marks of the same airframe though.

I Believe this has been accomplished by Hasegawa.
They offer (2) modern pilot sets, (2) WW2 allied/axis sets, and 2 different ground crew sets.

Hello all!

ICM has some boxes with three aircrafts and two sprues of personnal and ground equipment. The boxe having the price of one Tamigawa kit! I bought the Moscow defense one with a Mig 3, Yak 9 and Spitfire IX! You just have to buy the decals because those in the kit are poor!

Jean-Luc

P.S. What about a Tamiya box with a Me 262, Do335 and Fw 190D9 with Kettenkraftrad, Kübelwagen and some Luftwaffe personnal! The whole for half the price! And with a Dio base, a hangar and a Luftwaffe Barracke of course! What? I am dreaming? Er... excuse me!

1/48 Su-27 Flanker versions...

Unfortunately I doubt the Su-27K (the naval version) will be included. Looking at pics of the conversion set that would almost mean a whole new plane.

Speaking for the modern wingy things...
H-60 (comes with UH-60, MH-60, AH-60)
C-130 (comes with C-130, HC-130, AC-130 along with the proper flight crews for each, a Humvee, a Stryker, and a group of Airborne parachutists)
H-47 (comes with US CH-47, MH-47, and UK CH-47)
AH-64 (comes with US AH-64A, AH-64D, and foreign/UK AH-64)
H-1 (comes with UH-1 gunship, UH-1 Slick, UH-1N)
a heavy lift 3-in-1 (comes with C-5, C-17, C-141) :-)
a modern bomber 3-in-1(comes with B-52, B-1, and B-2)
F-18 (comes with US F-18C/D, RAAF or Canadian F-18, and Blue Angels F-18)
Thats all I can think of right now. I think that the C-130 3-in-1 would be my favorite with the heavy lifter 3-in-1 running in close second.

Yes but I'm talking about a couple of these items included with aircraft kits. You might get the odd standing pilot (Tamiya's Corsair) but most are seated, you can get some ordnance but I don't think that any, recent, toolings give you airfield equipment (unless you include the Kettenkraftrad in Tamiya's 262). Like Rowan says the kit manufacturers get more cash by supplying these things seperately. I still don't think they supply airfield equipment such as starter trollies; fuel bowsers; bomb loaders etc.

Sherman in a few versions, M3 halftrack with different guns, Willys jeep with MG + strectchers etc, STuG 3 and 4 with different guns etc, Bren carrier. Just a few things I'd like as 3 in 1.
