Again thanks guys and gals for following my request to keep the voting simple, it certainly helps me when toting up the results.
The most number of 1st choice votes went to CaptKelly with 6 (18 points).
The most number of 2nd choice votes went to Holdfast and JPTRR with 5 each (10 points).
The most number of 3rd choice votes went to Holdfast with 6 (6 points).
A few more members cast a vote this time, 23 (21 last time) but there were fewer entries, 8 (13 last time) and the results are as follows:
8th almonkey(Bf108) 1
7th bf443(Spitfire) 3
6th Rudel72(Bf109E) 15
5th Wingman (F16) 16
4th JPTRR(P-51B) 20
3rd TedMarmere(C.202) 23
2nd CaptKelly(Bf109G) 30
1st Holdfast(He111) 31
So I just pipped CaptKelly at the post. Well done to Captkelly and TedMarmere, worthy runners up. Well done to everyone taking part.
An interesting point here. In past votes it was looking like there might be a draw, which would require an adjudication. So I thought that it would be advantages if I were to save my vote until last, as a way of making that decision. I was doing that this time but when it came down to it it was a draw between me and CaptKelly, until newtothegame cast his vote with about 4 hours to go, giving me 1 point. I couldn't vote because how ever I voted it would "manipulate" the vote. So in future I will vote first as I have done in the past, if there is a draw the winner will be the entry with the most 1st votes, if they are equal then 2nd votes will decide, if they are equal then 3rd votes. Any comments.
I do hope that those that didn't receive a great number of points aren't put off by the fact and will post this month. Remember you can re-enter a model up to 3 times.
Are there any comments on anything to do with the MOM?
To solve the problem of capturing pictures for the gallery it would be useful if pictures for the MOM are hosted on Armorama. If you have a problem with space then once I have copied and put them in a folder in the gallery then you can delete them out of your personal gallery. You will still have access to them, for posting etc but you can, if you like delete it. Of course there is always the A-Guard.
Does any have any thoughts on a "challenge" MOM. Just something I thought of to get a bit of extra interest. To be done in the same vain as the MOM (ie friendly) but for, say, specific aircraft? Format something like; a member issues a challenge (posts a pic of a.......er Spitfire model of theirs Others post pics of their Spitfire models, voting takes place? Any thoughts

I propose that, if newtothegame is in agreement that his votes are discounted. This would make it and draw and CaptKelly would win by the rule of most 1st votes.
Views please.
This is because I feel pretty bad about note voting first as usual and the voting would have probably gone CaptKelley's way if I had. I suppose this move could be seen as manipulating the vote? But I think it's a valid point..................maybe....................er
say what you think.

Hi all! Hi Mal!
First I want to thank all who have participated and voted!
Second I want to say that vote is vote and when someone is first, then he is the winner! Discounting the vote of someone would be a bad thing in my opinion!
Mal your are the winner without giving your vote but CaptKelley also didn't if I'm not wrong. He could say as well he would have voted for you and you would be the winner! If someone reserves is vote for the last time to "manipulate" the vote that's his problem but the rules are the rules and you can vote anytime until dead end if you want!
The problem is the vote of the entrants. I decided to vote early to participate but not to be accused of manipulating the contest. I simply could have stayed out but there are not that many votes and I wanted to give my opinion! I simply didn't vote for me because I think it's normal not to do that (JPTRR and Wingman did the same )
The solution would be to PM the votes to someone (the winner of the previous contest for example) to make things anonymous! But you know too good that there would be less voting and it would make things more complicated.
We must have in mind that this is a "friendly" contest so let it remain simple. I think a "challenge" MOM is a great idea but with the number of entrants so far I don't think it would work very well by now! I think the MOM must be as opened as possible to let all participate!
But why don't create a specific "Challenge" all 6 month with a specific subject? This would let time to participate and build a kit for that purpose! Some kind of "Campaign Contest". The entrants would be "Hard-core" competitors! :-)
I also wanted to say something about contests on the web! I participated to some on Modelling Madness and this is the first I made on Armorama. I always reached a good place in each contests! I don't say that to pretend I'm the best modeler out there (I KNOW I'M NOT!) but just wanted to say that these aren't model contests at all! These are "PICTURES OF A MODEL" contests! And that's a HUGE difference! We vote for the picture, not the model itself! A good pictures of an average model will win against an average picture of a good model! Have always that in mind when participating!
I hope my comments aren't to "spicy" for someone being a newbee here! But it's simply my point of view!

Jean-Luc does raise a good point, I hope the MOM competition not only inspires us to build better models but also to improve our photography techniques.
Can I congratulate ALL those who took part, it is good to be able to see such a variety of models by diferent builders on one page.

Jean-Luc, I totally agree, I think I just want to see others winning, especially those that have posted such great pics. You are right about it being a "picture of a model" contest and not a model contest. Maybe set criteria for voting is what is required, rather then letting each choose their own criteria?
Martin, Yep, improving photographic technique is one of the aims of MOM. CaptKelly's pics are awesome and I'm looking for a nice background for my next one. A picture like that will win hands down over one taken on a cluttered workbench. I think the same can be said for a diorama over a model on it's own. So, as far as I'm concerned, MOM is working for me. I have plans for better pics and dioramas
I'm quite happy to take 1st, just wish I had voted up front like I usually did, but at least I know the consequences of saving my vote.
