Here are some info your looking for,

The VMAQ 2 is one of only two Marine squadrons ever to become operational in the EA-6B, and it was based at Cheery Point, NC. For many years the unit's markings were quite well known and included the bunny logo of the "Playboy" magazine. The squadrons nickname also was the Playboys. However the unit was forced to change it's name to "Panthers" in order to be more politically correct. The name "Panthers" was chosen from the NFL's new team in Charlotte, NC.

On a side note, the VMAQ 2 carried the same markings during it's changeover to the tactical paint schemes (grays) in the early 1980's

As for the tail color, yes gloss black. It also ran along the HF antenna.
