Do we need another 1/48 Fokker D.VII?....YES!!!!!!
Eduard gives us a kit that is targeted toward the average modeler. The OAW mid production variant is a real prize. The Lozenge is better but the rib tapes are still wrong. The engine compartment is highly simplified but can be built as is for a reasonable rendition. Still in the area of engines details, their structures and supports....Roden is still the king.
My Eduard kit arrived today from an undisclosed source...SSShhhh don't tell anyone. Most impressive. The great news is that Eduard finally got the engine rocker assembly right! It took them about 13 years but they finally have it well represented. Now if Eduard would just talk to someone about their lozenge. P.S. Ribtapes were one piece around rib profile.
