Phil Box (Almonkey) has sent us a great series of photos from the Newark Air Museum - including some wonderful pics of the Shackelton.
As Phil says:
"A couple of weeks ago I visited Newark air museums open cockpit day, had a great time there especially watching the two guys who had restored a couple of Merlin engines and put them on trailers, so they can tow them around and demonstrate them.
My prime objective was, however, to take as many pics of the Shackleton they have there, as I have the Revell kit of this, along with a bunch of photo etch stuff. For the sum of fifty pence, you can go inside, where there was a guy who would give you a (cramped!) tour. As it turned out, not only did he serve on Shackletons, but he had been part of the crew of this particular aircraft, and must have been a bit of a modeller as well, because when I told him what I was doing he asked me whether I had the Frog or Revell kit!
