G'day folk's,

It's been a short time since I posted a A/C model subject here, but here is my Tamiya 48 scale F4 Wildcat created as a Royal Navy Martlet V, used for anti-submarine patrols protecting the Gibraltar convoys during '44. The bird is X-F JV394 piloted by S/Lt D.White of 842 Sqn based on HMS Fencer in the Bay of Biscay during this period.

The model is OOB, with exception of the decals which are mix and match from the spares box, the enamels used on this are:- AeroMaster 'Warbird' RAF Sky for the undersurfaces, Humbrol Extra Dark Sea Grey / Slate Grey uppersurfaces, pastels where used for the exhaust, gun flash and cordite stains.

Hi Robert!

You made a very good "clean" build out of it!

Thats one nice looking Wildcat. Its good to see one in FAA coulours. A small error I noticed is that the Wildcat V only had four guns.

Here a photo of my much smaller Wildcat VI

The kit is from Sweet 1/144 RN Wildcat VI & Flight Deck Set painted with Polyscale and Tamiya acrylic paints.
