Just a quick Q'
Which versions of the Spitfire and Hurricane were used during the Battle of Britain?

The Hurricane Mk 1 and Spitfire Mk 1 were the main fighters of the Battle of Britian.

Hi David, for the best part of the B o B the Spitfire and Hurricane Mk. 1's were used, however, near the end the Spitfire Mk.2's came into service. I'm not certain but I think the Hurricane Mk.2's also came into service before the end of the B o B.

Wasn't sure about the Spitfire Mk II. The prototype Hurricane Mk II flew in june 1940. The first Hurricane Mk IIa were delivered to fighter command in October 1940.
