Hello hilbert,
its a real beast of a machine! As far as I know there are no kits of Ekranoplan around but this is a good place to look..

Hi Hilbert,
I don't recall that ther is a kit of this specific Ekranoplan. Revell has a kit of much smaller version. I have build it once for a friend and the kit was of a poor quality (and by far not as impressive as the thing on your pics)
Cheers

This vehicle is not based on a somekind of airplane, isn't it?
Becouse I can scratchbuild the parts then.. but it would be a very very very big challenge for me.
I hope it does, becouse I wouldn't be happy if not!!

Hi, heres the Revell model..
http://www.flankerman.fsnet.co.uk/ekran_144.htm
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/sea/sbeatson/ekranoplan.htm
google turns up quite a bit of information and many more photos and also for a hint of what a scratchbuild will involve..

But isn't there a plane what looks very similiar with this beast???
Then I can take the time for it and scratchbuild some parts.
I hope any airplane builder can help me....

I dont think there is any "real" aircraft kits available that could be used as a basis for conversion, i cant tell if this is still available..

Thanks anyway, I hope someone can order it for me.

Thank all the powers that be there is nothing else that looks like this. :-)
The thing is, this is essential a hybrid airplane/ship. They are designed to skim he waves and not really fly as you would in a traditional airplane.

I've just mailed a man who has the kit, or he atleast build it.
I've asked about the costs of it and if it is a build up model etc etc etc...
I hope I will get answer soon....
You will hear it from me!!
Bye Hilbert

What I know is that they build it to move large amounts of troops over the black sea in case WWIII broke out. The project was abandonded when 1 prototype hit the water at full speed and crashed. Because it is such a huge plane you don't want to start on 1 1/32 sctatchbuild model but maybe 1/72 or somehing. This makes scratching easier since you don't have to bother about details to much
But if you start the build I am waiting to see the results!! (see my signature)

Thanks!
Well i don't think i'm gonna scratchbuild it.
I've found a kit (it's a pity) but that is one piece.
But not weathered and so.
So I'll think I will buy that. Scratchbuild is simply impossible becouse:
1) I don't have experience in scratchbuild.
2) there is not a plane what looks like as the Caspian sea monster.
