I want one of these REALLY bad and can only find a German CH-53. I am working on the German one now but it has subtle differences than the Marine Stallion. Can someone please advise on where to buy this unassembled model.

You can't. This is something I really want bad too, a 1/35 CH-53E Sea Stallion. I think Revell made an older CH-53D prior to the German version, but I hear these are very rare. I am pretty sure there isn't even a full resin Sea Stallion to make. But after Academy released their CH-46E, I am having hope in the relative near future. Sorry. My best advice is to look around for a conversion from the German version.
I know Cobra Company makes a conversion of the Revell model to MH-53J standard, but that is Air Forcce

I have the German version and what I did to make it an American version from Vietnam was just to add the differant style intakes for the jets.
You could do that and then scrounge around the net or make your own Marine decals.
I thnk Revell used to make a Marine version, a while ago I think.
Also, I assume this is in 48th your talking about.

Thanks guys,
Yeah, I would prefer 48th but anything over a 1/32 will do. The biggest difference I have noticed is there is no refueling pod on the front. I am planning on painting the proper markings on the German one, hoping to anyway. Luckily it is a 1/48 or paining would be impossible. I seen it on hobbylinc.com once but it was discontinued. I will keep you updated on the German one.

You can not make a CH-53E from the Revell D kit or the German version. The E is a totally new helo. It is wider, and longer than a D, has 7 blades as opposed to 6, has a third engine, etc. It would be less work to scratch-build it.
Italeri did a CH-53E in 1/72, it is OOP, but may be re-released soon. Academy has also announced a CH-53 in 1/48 for '07. Not sure if it will be a C, D or E model. No other company makes an E model.

I've looked just about everywhere for that model. And, like you said I too can only find it in 1/48 scale for the german model. And trust me when I say everywhere. I'm in the same boat too with wanting this model. aside from a few common helicopter models I plan on picking up this would complete my collection.

The Revell 1/48 CH-53G German version has all the parts in the box to make the US Version as well. They just added a sprue with the German-specific parts. You could add USMC decals from the spares box or get some from Two Bobs and have an early USMC CH-53D.

Two Bobs????
Here are some interesting sites on the model:
http://hfi.rotor.com/HFI013.HTM
(probably scratch built)
This is a military video website. It has a rendition of the model I want to build. It is exactly 1:09 minutes into the video. You can open it with Windows media player.

Two Bobs????
Two Bobs Aviation Graphics. They make aftermarket decals for aircraft and helos. Don't think they make a set specifically for the CH-53D, but you could get some generic USMC decals from an aircraft and cobble them together. Here is their website.

The model you have linked to is the Revell 1/48 CH-53D, not an E model, with USMC decals.
Here is another example of what can be done with the Revell D model and some USMC decals.

I've been looking for this model for a long time as well, and I can safely say that there are not many sites that have this model in stock, whether it be the Italeri Echo, or the Revell German series (which as said is not the Echo version of the CH-53)
Wish you luck finding one.
