Hi AJ!

Take a look at this thread: group builds

Guess what was the first idea proposed!

It's funny! I wanted to PM Rowan (Merlin) the nightfighter idea was cool! You have started a P-61 if I'm right! Mal (Holdfast) and Phil (Pixilater) did also start the build of a Black Widow!

I myself have a Gotha P60C to build in the near future so I would join a Nightfighter group build without hesitation! Rowan who first suggested the campaign theme would probably join as well... would you Merlin?

That would make five! Anyone else interested?

Well, I'm a sucker for these Campaigns... Thus, I'm in!!!

Don't forget, however, this excellent idea for a Bombs Away campaign. We should be able to have two aircraft campaigns going at once, shouldn't we?!

Are you in on both???

Cheers!!

EDIT: Oups! Just noted that the suggestion for night fighters was restricted to WWII aircraft. I was hoping to build a post WWII plane (either another Swedish Mosquito or an Israeli Meteor N.F.13). If possible, please keep the campaign open for this...

Hi there

It doesn't sound like I've got much choice, does it?!

So long as we've got a nice relaxed time span for the build, I'll definitely join in. I'll put my thinking cap on to decide what to build.

All the best

If it starts before next year then it must remain a group build only and not a campaign.

Cheers

Sorry, I had thought about it last night while working on my black widow, and had to write it down before I forgot!

Hi again

Assuming everyone's happy with Nightfighters being a Group Build (as against an official campaign), I'll join in with a Nakajima Gekko.

All the best

Maybe a campaign is a good oppertunity to build an aircraft again...

Who knows, if I've got time I'll join!

Oh eek, my P-61 is in a state of never getting completed. However since seeing Bill's it will probably get going again. Problem is it's half re-scribed and although my eezee method will make it much easier to finish I have to many other projects on the go, having recently started the Accurate Minitures IL 2 Stormovick, and Classic Airframes CR.42. Not only that but, because of a few problems, mainly with canopies, my on-line builds are way behind (made some progress today though) and I must get them moving. So that's the excuses out of the way, not to forget the planning for Telford and the IPMS ArmoramaUK branch stand
If there is plenty of time I will enter with a Tamiya He 219. This is one of the very few models of which I have more than one in my stach, got one at a real bargin, and I have the Aires cockpit sets for them both. I have been itching to build one for a long time

Hi all!

Seems the Nightfighter idea made it's way on top of the group build wish list!

Sorry to have pushed you in this Rowan! But the idea was yours first! Huh! Huh!

AJ I just wanted to let you know the idea was "in the air"... so you don't have to be sorry! A good idea generally comes in the mind of more than one guy! Otherwise, how could we know it was a good idea?

I don't want to push you more than I already did Magician, but it looks as if you have to take the commandment of this! If you're to busy, I would then suggest Darktrooper as the "Group Build Leader"...

Greets,

Excellent idea! Having just finished reading about Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer, and last year reading THE OTHER BATTLE, I was planning to propose "Night Stalkers"--night fighters.

I am up for it, so's my Tamiya Uhu.

Polarbear, et al,

I am for expanding it to post-WWII, too. Why? I think that with the advent of radar being stuck into almost everything, almost every fighter essentially became all-weather/night capable by the 1950s. The last US purpose-built nightfighter was the Douglas Skyknight, IIRC.

I would restrict the campaign to prop and first generation jets, so my F7F-N Tigercat could have a go, and Polarbear's ideas. F-4 Phantoms, F-89s, Javelins, Flashlights, Firebars, etc. need not apply!

What thinks ye?

Now you've done it! I started with the idea of building a Gekko... and then I spotted a Defiant and Tigercat on the shelf! Decisions, decisions! :-)

Hi Jean-Luc

I don't know the Flashback kit... both mine are Classic Airframes; I've got the original pot-bellied 1995 version and last year's total re-tool. To save my sanity, I'll build the new one if I go for the Defiant.

LOL! That looks distinctly like the original Classic Airframes kit... Eeeek! I imagine it was re-boxed a few years later... Yep! The star-shaped sprue is identical.

I held onto mine for years (obviously, 10 now!) waiting for the excuse to build it, but was overtaken by the new Classic Airframes release.

Well Thanks for the vote of confidence!

And Seeing that I have stepped in it, as they say, lets get started!

I believe that this is a group build and not official campaign we dont have to go onto the CCC. I'm still building my P-61, but may enter a Arado 234 night fighter.

Lets get to it, and OWN THE NIGHT!

Yiipeeeh!

Good move AJ! Count me in to fly under your command!

Rowan, I thought this could be the Classic Airframes one! But on the cover, it is said the injected plastic was from Eduard and the additional resin by Aires! But with those Czech productions you never know. Eduard, MPM, Special Hobby, Condor etc... in fact these could be the same producer after all! Somewhere deep into the Central Europe forest there is a Secret Plastic Model Factory thas floods the world with those masochistic short run kits!
The Flashback Defiant is a limited edition kit of 999 ex. I don't think many have been build!

OK, we started at WW-II, then apparently allowed post-WWII, so what's wrong with pre-WWII ???
