Hello lads.
Just wondering if I could get an idea of what is the best colour in the tamiya acyrilic range to paint my 1/35 Acadamy UH-1C Huey Frog.
I recently bought this kit for 20 odd aussie dollars from Hobby HQ in melborne and am more than happy with the contents and price and can't wait any longer to build it.
I am also unsure if the airframe was used in the Vietnam war and would like to make it the theme for this project if not, another conflict would be fine.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

The UH-1C was used in Vietnam. It was probably the most used, if not, it was a close 2nd to the later UH-1D/H model. Don't know the Tamiya color number, but it should be an OD Green. Also, these aircraft seemed to fade pretty quickly, so a faded OD is best.

Hello pottz88 and welcome ,
The exact color for U.S.Army helicopters in Vietnam was Olive Drab FS34087. A Tamiya match would be XF-62. Hope this helps you out some, be sure to post your pics as I would be looking forward to seeing them.

I love the frikkin' Huey. Best dam helicopter made.
I would like to see pics too. Remember, when it comes to american models, you can almost never go wrong w/ Olive Drab. Great idea on the faded OD Heavyarty. I will have to check into that.
Speaking of paint, where can I get an ultra flat clearcoat spraypaint?

Testor's Dullcote comes in a small spray can. Couple coats of it should give you a good flat finish.
