What's this mini-campaign?!? Is that outside of the real bombers campaign being planned?

no, i mean the campaign where you are talking about building a caproni in swedish colours, i thought it was sort of a group build mini campaign as opposed to a full blown campaign

Hi guys

i think, to avoid confusion, we need to try to differentiate between Group Builds and official Campaigns.

Group Builds are informal - they are just a joint-build within the Forum - and don't issue a medal at the end.

Campaigns have their own page and have to have a Campaign Leader, definite start and finish dates and a Campaign Medal to be issued to those who complete the build.

There's a moratorium on any new Campaigns until the New Year, but the Bombs Away build is a prime candidate to get the ball rolling again when they re-start.

All the best

Hi again

Sorry Phil... after all that, I forgot to say "Nice job!" on your Bf 109!

If you and Jean-Luc ever do a second round of Spanish Civil War combatants I'll try to join in.

All the best

im not too sure i can keep my hands off the heinkel until then! but i do have a revell He 177 with full p/e and replacement vacform canpies that will fit the bill, and a next year start means i have time to work up the courage to start what will be probably my biggest modelling build yet.

as long as its condor legion, jean-luc has someone who was building a 1/32 rata on his side. on a serious note this little duel we had, has been a lot of fun both in building the kits, and posting as baron freiherr von almonkenstein. i think its something that could easily be expanded in a campaign format i.e. aircraft that would have fought against each other in any theatre of operations, im thinking of maybe a squadron of spitfires against a staffel of 109s (1940) BUT all participants have to take on the persona of the pilot of their aircraft

Sorry Baron, couldn't resist! :-)
I guess you will want to verify the reality of this picture with an IL2 online duel!

Jean-Luc

P.S. I have a CR-32 Freccia (Smer 1/48) in Spanish Civil War markings for further "duels". But I'll have to switch from the reds to the Fascists... Doh!

Hi Treecat

Yes - I should have mentioned in my explanation of the differences between Group Builds and Campaigns that at least 10 people need to sign up in advance for a proposed Campaign to be considered for inclusion.

Judging by the response to your thread, I don't think we'll have any problems on that score...

Hi Rowna,

Not yet read abvout bomb's away, but if it is any WWII bomber of any country, count me in!

Phil, good looking Kondor "Bruno". I wonder if I've got anything suitable for Spain?

Jean-Luc, VERY good! What program do you use?

Hi fred!

I used a copy of Photoshop (Mac version) I received with my Scanner.
One picture of Phil's Wünderbarer Messerschmitt and one of my Rata were used in the same file using layers... Photoshop's select tool and numerous filters were used to blend the two pics together...
The sky was made by using the "clouds filter". The smoke and damage were made with the usual airbrush tool.

Flitzer also did some pics like these... you can find them on he's personal website:
