This is my first attempt at building choppers. It has some fit problems but overall I'M happy with it so far. I have some weathering, drybrushing and decal placement to go which I will finish in due course.

Iam lookin for some good clear pics on hueys in vietnam to get my weathering just right.
I just bought the oh-58 kiowa black death 1/35 for 20 aussie dollars and am looking forward to the build later.

Please comment heavy arty as I see you are a fan of the old rotor blade.

cheers

looks good already dan, even without the weathering & decals.

did you do pre-shading on the panel lines? planning to put any figs? are you going to open the doors to show the interiors?

Yeah I did a bit of preshading on all panel lines and rivet detail (my best ever I think) and still to add the rocket pods. The kit came with a mini gun but am unsure how it goes together.
Doors on this project will be closed and no figs added.

I still have a long way to go making my figs look realistic.

Thanks for the comments more pics to come with better lighting.

Looks good to me. For Vietnam weathering, yours is pretty much there. Helos dont get really dirty and grimy. I would go wih a little red-browm dusting to replicate the Vietnam dirt and some heavy fading by drybrushing a lighter version of the base color on upper surfaces. Maybe some aluminum brybrushed around door and panel openings to represent rubbed off paint as well. Good job.
