]Hi I'm very new to these forum so I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but here are some pics of my MiG-29. It is the Academy 1/48 kit in Indian AF special markings for ACM. The decals come from Hi-decals. I used the Aires resin cockpit and the Eduard exterior PE set. Seeing as I posted in this forum, constructive criticism is obviously welcomed. #:-) Well here goes:

Sorry if it is too many pics.

Hi Gautam welcome to the aircraft forum.
There are a couple of critique forums, The Rivet Review Board and the Critics Corner. However some members prefer to ask for constructive criticism here, which is OK especially if your new to the site. It can be a bit daunting but fear not we are a friendly bunch
I haven't built any modern stuff for a long time, so I don't really feel qualified to say much, apart from you have a very nice Mig 29 there.
From a modelling point of view I feel that the cockpit, although very nice, would benefit from a wash and dry brushing, emphasise what is a very nice cockpit.
It is very nice to see that you have posted this in the MOM. If you click on the MOM filter you will be able to see other threads relating to this, including the rules etc. Also in the gallery, under aircraft you will find past MOMs. The pics at the front of the folder are the winner for that month.
Thanks for posting

Hi Gautam!

Thanks for sharing the pics! The Mig looks good... though I'm not a specialist of modern aircraft neither...

So my only critic would be on the pictures... They are good, sharp etc... but your model would look even better on a plain background. You see, a powerfull Mig 29 on a cute table cloth... Hmmm! :-)
It would not be that important here, because you only want some comments about you model and we can make abstraction of the background (nice chairs you have!) but you should put "all the trumps on your side" * for the MOM since you posted the same pictures!
In other words: give your model the pictures it deserves...

Jean-Luc

* "all the trumps on your side" is that correct

Thank you for the comments. Yes the pictures are old and I had not bothered to put them on a plain background so they are inferior.

Hi Gautam!

About the pics, can't you shoot a new set? It would be worth it! Definitely!

And you can still edit a post you submitted...

I will second this - with reservations. My reservation is that it isn't that your background is a table cloth even with a design on it- I do that all the time. What doesn't work is that on an (overall) Gray Mig (beautiful BTW ), on an off-white (or close to) background, the aircraft tends to blend in - exactly the point of camoflauge, but not when we want to see it! I use a green table cloth as it contrasts my usually sand colored vehicles. Find a background that is contrasting to the main color of your model. The background doesn't have to be fancy - using a tablecloth is good example of not needing to be elegant.

Now, as for the MiG. Very good. I don't see many IAF MiGs, so that has a great touch. I am not familiar with MiG models, so I can't give you any constructive criticism. So I will ask, was the yellow tails part of the model paint scheme or did you come up with that? I really like your cockpit. Busy as actual MiGs are, but not too busy to be distracting to the eye. Good job and welcome to the Big-A.

Jeff, the yellow tails were actually part of the paint scheme for the plane. They used this particular scheme for ACM training. Thanks foor the advice on pic taking, which has long been my weakest point...
