Hi! Guys
Anyone started on this kit yet?. I started with the engine
and I'm totally excited bout this kit, as it has been a long
awaited subject for me. I hope Trumpeter comes out with
a good SBD kit. My next kit from Trumpeter would be the
FW 200 Condor.

I haven't started mine yet, but I've got about all the documentation together. I'll be backdating my TBF-1C to a TBF-1, and marking it up for a VT-8 plane participating in the Battle of Midway.

... and if you are making a Battle of Midway Avenger don't forget the bullet holes! They were literally slaughtered there! I believe only one managed to return "safely" to the Island after their attack...

Indeed. My model will be of 8-T-16, which didn't make it back. I managed to locate the construction numbers for these Avengers along with the crew names which cinched the build. I'd like to place it in a little vignette, where the torpedo is just about to be loaded into the aircraft.
