AJ has done a very well-considered review on this kit. I completely agree with his rating which is essentially that it it is a long way behind the (superb) Tamiya 'Spads' as i've built every 1/48th Skyraider on the market, in the end I always go back to Tamiya's (apart from their lack of an AD-5 ) ....Jim

AJ McKechnie,

That is a very good aircraft review of the New Italeri Skyraider (ex. ESCI - AMT/ERTL)

Excellent decal sheet manufactured by Cartograf, however, I disappointed with the South Vietnamese Airforce Markings (the old ESCI decal for VNAF was better). When I came back to modelling 2 years ago, I built an Italeri Spad with the Cartograf decal set, excepted the fuselage band I picked from Cutting Edge (YellowHammer):

As Jim Rea said, the excellent Skyraider in this scale was Tamiya, I hope that Tamiya will release a New AD-5 or an AD-4W
