G'day John,
Using Humbrol enamels to paint your Spit Mk IX, these 3 colours would be close to the cammo scheme.
Undersurfaces;-
Humbrol #147 [Matt Light Grey]
Uppersurfaces:-
Humbrol #163 [Dark Green]
Humbrol #106 [Ocean Grey]
Cockpit:-
Humbrol #78 [[Matt Cockpit Green]
When painting the wheel wells, only the well roof is the cockpit green, the remainder is the light grey undersurface. Also the undercarrage legs and door are light grey.
One tip I use when painting Spits, is to paint the cockpit green to the inner upper wing halves and cover with a small piece of wax paper, when gluing the wings together.
Hope this helps.

the storey of the camo colours being changed is that up until the time of the battle of britain, the R.A.F.were fighting over land, so the brown/green camo worked for that. in 1941the R.A.F. fighters started offensive sweeps across the channel and the grey/green scheme was used as it needed to disguise aircraft over water as well as land

I would also add Humbrol 154 insignia yellow and 90 biege green to your list to paint the yellow leading edge strips and sky fuselage band and prop spinner.

Just like to say that, in my opinion, Humbrol colours are not quit as well matched as other brands. My choice would be for WEM (White Ensign Models) Colourcoats as they are superbly matched and are available on line and are shipped in any number. A little more expensive than Humbrol but if you are considering building more aircraft well worth a thought.

To be honest John I'm not sure if they do Interior green, I'll check and get back to you. Don't forget to mention Armorama if you do buy Colourcoats
Try HERE for more info on the Typhoon Invasion stripes on fighters were 18" wide works out about 9.2mm if memory serves correctly. The kit, black, stripes are 9.5 so, having used them the overall stripe are is a tad to wide. You would know though. When I find a calculater I'll confirm the width.
