Yet another announcement from Dragon Models of a new aviation kit. This time the new release is DRA5545 - Fw190A-7 "Doppelreiter" with Slipper Tanks in 1/48th scale. By all accounts a fairly unusual subject in kit form. In the purely ''aesthetic'' sense, it certainly has an intereting aspect. The full story, along with images of the new kit, can be seen:

As Art Carney would say.

Cheers for the news Jim
That does indeed look interesting - and it answers the question as to whether DML and Hasegawa have teamed up for their new Fw 190s... obviously not! It definitely looks like an update of the old Trimaster/Dragon kit - no bad thing, as it's generally considered more accurate than Tamiya's kit.
The moulds have been showing their age in some of the recent re-boxings (such as ProModeller's 'G), but if DML have managed to restore them, this should be a kit to look forward to. I don't think the Doppelreiter tanks went much beyond the testing stage, so it'll definetly be an interesting rare bird to have in the collection.
All the best
