Hi All,
yet another boring canopy question:
The canopy in a kit does not have a colour, in real life it does have some coulour: light green or blue or something. I want to paint that colour on. Has anybody done that succesfully (on an F-15)? What brand of paint did you use? I am afraid if I do it wrong the layer of paint might be to thick, even with an airbrush.
Cheers,
Mat

I'm sure he is referring to this article, shows how you can tint "Future"

Hi mat!
This has been discussed before here. Maybe you'll find other interesting tips on this older thread...
Hope this helps!

I've used hi-lighter markers with some success to tint canopies. First do the future thing , and then just run the marker on the inside of the canopy. You have to test differant brands to find the right tint though.
I used a blue Crayola to tint the front windscreen on my A-10 and it looks pretty good. But like I said, you have to experiment.

My suggestion is using Tamiya’s clears, they come in Yellow, Red, Blue, Green and Orange. I say it would be best to thin 70% thinner to 30% paint. Also I suggest practicing the mixture till you get the tone your after. If you mess up the canopy, they best way to clean it up is to use Castrol Super Clean or Simple Green, both can be found at auto supply’s stores. Believe me this stuff works very well for paint removal. Merlin our main man here can back that up as he did a post on it once.
