The model is 1/72 and yes the water is made out of the old cotton ball. But it turned well it is a gift for my dad.

thats a nice way to display this aircraft, one thing though, did you consider making the propellers look as if they are turning? its just that i think the first pic looks so realistic, apart from the static props

Awesome job. I really like the display too. I don't think it is said above, but what kit is it (company)? Looks great.
