At Ted Mamere's suggestion, I'm posting this in aviation as well! I am a new builder, and this is my first helicopter. I am going to submit it for the Medics campaign. This build was special to me because it contains my first ever scratch-built piece- the rear rotor. The dio is not done yet. I am waiting for 3 more figures to add to the scene. comments and critique welcome!

Hi Babycakes!

Welcome in the aircraft forum!

I hope all helicopter specialists will show up soon! I know there are some here...

It seems we are in the same situation! You are waiting for figures for your Medics Entry and so do I... my French Indochina personnel for my Medics Goose didn't showed up neither. I hope we both get our figures soon!

Welcome to the Aircraft forum GI_Babycakes, (love the name, can I call you GI ) I don't think we need any specialists to tell us what a great job you have done. I have searched for something that could, maybe, be improved and really the only thing I can suggest is that the main rotor is drooped (the experts might be able to say that the rotor on a Bell 47? didn't droop so the only other little thing is the pilots head could be a little annimated by turning it to look left, or right (this is assuming that one of the figures you are waiting for will be either a patient being loaded or unloaded or medics approaching or some such thing). These are very minor points.
The bubble is very well done, very clear with no flaws, very good. The clear covers on the stretchers are also very well done. I don't know much about Dioramas but you groundwork is equaly good. Can't see much of the pilot but what I can see he looks to be well painted.
GI, it would be great if you would consider entering this in our MOM (Model of the Month) you should have a very good chance of taking the honours with this (it will mean I will have to re-consider my entry, but it will be worth it)
Thanks for sharing, do you have any more?

I am really not even sure that there would be a droop especially if the pilot is landing/taking-off. If this is the case, I expecially love the second picture, as the blur of the rotor gives an impression of movement (despite its standing still!). I agree that a little animation of the pilot is the one flaw I can tell, thus this is just about flawless! Great job.

Oh and congrats on the scratchbuilt piece; feels kinda good knowing that you made something yourself rather than just assembled parts.

The outdoor pics make your excellent helo even better. Looking forward to seeing your figures complete. The scratchbuilt rotor looks professional. Can't wait to see your final vision of this scene
