Hi Bren,

Saw your pics at the MSn site, and they are pretty good !

Reg. your Hurri, I suggest you do a search at Google(www.google.com), by first giving Hawker Hurricane, and then search for Night Fighter within results.

I came across this at Hyperscale, and it may help you along...
Hawker Night Hurri

Cheers,
BP.

Looks like you have at least three choices:

Convert the Hasegawa kit to a night fighter:

Or Hobbycraft has two versions:

I can't get you to a site, but, if I remember correcly, at least some Hurricanes were done up as night fighters with the bottom painted black on one side and white on the other with the demarcation line being right down the middle. I don't remember what the upper surfaces looked like. I'll check my stuff at home and see if I have a pic of this. If I do, I'll PM you for your addy and send you a scan.

Al, The half black half white scheme was an early war recognition feature. I believe early night fighters were in mormal day fighter colours, then all over black

Entirely possible. It's been a long time since I did any reseach on the Hurricane. Here is a page that shows the schemes I mentioned. Unfortunately, the thumbnail links don't connect to a larger image and the author doesn't explain the schemes. http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/hurricane/camouflage.htm

Yes Al, those thumb nails show day fighter schemes, DT - A is, I believe Robert Stanford Tuck's Hurricane. I honestly don't know if any fighters flew at night in these schemes. I think that before dedicated night fighter squadrons were formed, any Squadron
might be given the task. It just seems that black white or black sky undersurfaces would be to conspicuous at night.
Overall black for night fighters was decided on by the Air Ministry on 30 October 1940.
