Looking to load out a few Phantoms (2-3) with this remaining Hasegawa ordinance, seeing that the loadout diagrams for most of the sets are for F4's..
Whose Phantoms are better in 1/72 Hasegawa or Fujimi?
Thanks,
Mike

Go with the Hasegawa. The Fujimis are older, not the best fit and have raised panel lines. the Hasegawas fit nicely and are finely scribed.

Mike, here's the poop. The Hasegawa kits are the better ones for USN, USAF, and JASDF F-4's. The Fujimi RAF and Royal Navy Spey engined F-4's are the better for those versions.

I've built a few of the Fujimi F4's and they are pretty good, but I agree with the other posts. Go for the Hasegawa kits...

Hi ,
Yes go for Hasegawa F-4 , more version to choose I think (about Hasegawa vs Fujimi but I have Fujimi , Hasegawa and Esci , Yes Esci - very good model and also new Phantoms from Revell - every production are fine and nicest for modeler work
If we talk about all this companies - choose Revell
Best Regards

Geez, I forgot all about the Revell of Germany F-4's. They are the best ones for the RF-4E and F-4F (which is an easy conversion to an E). To clarify about the Fujimi Spey engined F-4's. They are a whole different tool from the other Fujimi F-4's. They came out at the same time as Fujimi's other "best toolings" came out. (A-7, A-6, A-4). I even think they're better than the Hasegawa kits. The fit is just as good if not better, and the cockpit kicks Hasegawa's butt.

I have two Fujimi F-4s, one F-4G (I think) and an E. I seem to recall these had engraved panel lines, and no trouble with the fit at all. COuld this be true? I don't have them where I live right now.

Hi Stavka2000,
I also have the old Fujimi F-4G Phantom in 72 scale and it does have the engraved panel lines. Looks like a pretty good kit to me.

Fujimi are the folks to see for the F4 types flown by the UK.
Hasegawa is top rate when it comes to US and Japanese F4s.
I'm actually partial to the Italeri F4

I built my British F-4s using Fujimi kits. They are older, less complicated during assembly, and have a nice general outline. Hasegawa leads in all US versions, as are their respective prices. The common problem for the two manufacturers come at the part where the air intakes mate to the fuselage. a little test fitting, filling and sanding is required. By the way, the 1/32 Tamiya F-4J kit is terrific. (:-)
