Another of my oldies but goooo...er, ah, not-baddies , Monogram's 1968 Do-17Z.
I remember that I bought this in '69 at the pharmacy (name escapes me), one of my first 10 models. It has always been a favorite of mine. Years ago I snared the retro-reissue, put the wings together, and unable to just build a kit OOB, put it aside until I could figure out what to do with the cockpit.
Last month I revived it, added a cockpit floor, numerous resin panels and boxes and stringers, painted the crew, replaced the kit guns, and:

...not bad for a 37-year kit!! you did well for the camo painting... nice work!
the do17 is one of my fav early-war luftwaffe aircraft... hopefully dragon (or tamiya/italeri) will release a newly-tooled do17 soon....

Hi Fred!
Good to see a Do17Z here! I'm searching one since I began to built up my stash because it's a great looking and important plane... typical Luftwaffe.
I think you did a great job on this "vintage" kit (this is a word that showed up often in the forums lately). I particulary like the yellow markings... sure this plane couldn't be mistaken by the flak...

It is a dream I have
Jean-Luc,
Yes, the Do-17Z, my favorite of the early Luftwaffe.
I marked it for the Krete campaign, but now it appears it is more appropriate for Russia. I wish I'd found this Libyan one first--didn't know they flew with Afrika Korps.
