Hi All,

OKay, my ME-262 has the clear-film-styrene layering for the instrument panel.

What glue do you use to attach the film to the plastic parts?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Fred

I normally use a little cyano for jobs like this. (White glue (PVA) also works, but you just have to be more careful afterwards because it's not a very resilient joint and can come adrift.)

Hope this helps.

Fred
You can use clear coat to glue them in. Either acrylic or enamal will work fine. I use it all the time and not just for decals you can use it to glue in windows as well.

I use white glue for initial placement then Zap-a-Gap cyno around the edges to insure a bond.

This is a sandwich of PE, Clear Film and Plastic

I use Future to attach the instrument sheet to the back of the panel and then I tack it with CA around the edges after the Future dries.

I do what Chuck does:

Let the white glue dry first, otherwise the CA will "blead" between the 2 elements.
Check out my article on "glazing" etched instrument panels.

Thank you, Gentlemen.

The panel is fin. I ended up peeling the sandwich apart and sanding the panel face down because it was so thick. Photos ASAP
