Hey all,
This is a little 1:72 kit from PM Model.
The Me-326 V2 glider plane was 'parasite' fighter, mounted on a Do-217E bomber. The V1 variant, with longer wings, is more known and some were also produced with an Argus engine.
The V2 glider variant had unusually short wings designed for low level fighting.

Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. Am I right in thinking that you get both options in the kit?

Soem of PM's output goes together very well (e.g. their Hawker Sea Furies, Ta 183 Huckebein, DFS 194 etc) and are reasonably priced to boot. I think Pocketbond distribute them in the UK - ask in your model shop for availability as sometimes they will order something specific in.

Airfix redid their old Do 217 with this kit a while back (the V1 variant) with the supporting struts to mount on the bomber. Though I might wait and get the Italeri one if it comes out as the shape is a bit more realistic.

Look forward to seeing more of your models.

Thanks for the nice comments!

@lapulid2: yes, I like the 1:72 kits. I started 1:72 scale planes this year for the "Air over the Sea" campaign. Now I'm a bit addicted...
The panellines are engraved and easy to work with.

@Ian2: the quality of PM kits vary very much. Although I have my doubts with the scale and form of the models I must say they have some real nice variants and strange planes and for a very nice price.

You are right; the kit gives both V1 and V2 options.

Some photos of the real aircraft here:

By the looks of it, there should be a certain amount of framing on the canopy, which isn't evident on the kit boxart (unless this applies to a later machine).

Hey Ian,

Thanks for the nice link! Great pictures! I bookmarked it right away!
You are right about the canopy of the gliders on the B&W pictures on that site.
But perhaps there are differences in canopies used.
It were mostly prototypes, so it could be they varied from plane to plane for
testing.

The drawing on the bottem of the page you mentioned shows the glider version
(the one below) with a canopy looking very simular to the one from the kit

I was just looking at my Squadron monthly flyer with this kit advertised on the front page for $5.46. Is it worth the money? Good build?

Hey Sabot,

Which one do you mean? The PM or the HUMA mentioned by CRS?

For the HUMA kit I would say it is a very, very nice price.
But I don't know how the kit is, but being from HUMA it's mostly good quality.

For the PM kit this is a normal price, but it is a very simple kit of a modest quality.
From some PM models I doubt if the form and looks are correct.

The HUMA kit is very nice, includes two aircraft, ram jets etal.

The bad news it lists for $30.00 if you can find it.

HUMA is always limited run, mine is still in the box and bag, I'll eventually build both versions. :-)

I bought it because it was so unusual at the time and I almost always snatch up HUMA when it's available.

I haven't seen that profile before. I admit that I based my assumptions on the photographs - the only pic I could find of the V1 prototype had it's canopy partially obscured by the stbd wing. Though what is visible points towards it being the bubble type as shown in your picture.

By the looks of it, with the available kits, it should be possible to show virtually the entire development of this little-known aircraft. Has anyone built the Huma kits?
