I had one of these when I was a bit younger and I have seen these are being re-released. Anyone else have one of these? There is one on ebay at this time.

Just wondering if anyone else missed this kit as much as I have. My two boys desroyed mine when they were litte.

Pretty cool to see them back out, my brother had it when we were younger. I think it was the mid 70's. I had the clear body Phantom Huey, now if they only would re-release that kit as well. Thanks for the link.

I saw one at my local Hobby Lobby. I picked up one when I was stationed in New Jersey, some time between Jan 1999-2001.

Monogram also issued it in silver plastic with some of the working features (retractable gear, droppable bombs). Frankly, even with the toylike features, it was a far more pleasant built than the Hasegawa P-51D.

Ahh, if only we were young again

I wonder if my local Hobby Lobby has one? Maybe they got one stuck in the back somewhere. That would be something great to pick up when they have their 50% off.

I can't recall where I read it, but that this 30+ year old model is still one of the most accurate models of the P-51 available.

I built that in the very early 60's, 61 or 62 at the latest, showing both its age and mine! :-)

What blows me away Al is that you can remember it.

The kit I built was in 1982 or '83. It was given to me by a neighbor who had a ton of kits he had bought in the 50's, 60's and 70's. As memeory serves me it was pretty accurate. I'll robably wind up trying to get one off ebay.

Well, it only took four (4) years but I was able to pick one up at my local Hobby Lobby. Now it goes in the stack with everything else I haven't started. But I'm retiring at the end of December so I've got plenty now to keep me busy for at least two years.
