Try the Aztek A4709, it's what I use and I really like it. Very versatile. Also, it's $89 at Model Expo:

SuperSniper, first of all, welcome to Armorama.

You'll probably get one answer for every kind of airbrush there is because everyone has their favorites and what they prefer. My choice (and the only one I've ever used) is the old single-action Paasche H. It can be had for about $50 I think. I would ask around at local stores for a demo to find what you like. Good luck and keep us posted.

I use a Paasche V that I got from Pearl's for about $70. It's the only airbrush I've ever used so I can't compare it to others but I'm quite satisfied with it. It's double-action, but I probably don't need double-action at my skill level. I've seem them even cheaper in Fine Scale Modeler. There's an ad that runs every month but I can't remember the name of the store and don't have a FSM handy. You may want to investigate compatibility with compressors also as that piece may run you even more.

I second the nomination for the Pasche H model. I have had one for about 13 years now and have only had to change the tips a few times. It is a great airbrush. I swear by it. Decent price too. You can get the whole kit which includes two small paint bottles, 1 large paint bottle, paint cup, three sizes of tips, hose, and a storage holder clip all for about $65.00.

I'm using primarily a Badger 150. Lightweight and easy to clean. The basic outfit is about $125 US. (Yard sale special at $25). My second is the Paasche VL. Very good but a bit more work to clean and a lot heavier. Before that, I used a Paasche H. Okay as a starter but I'd definitely gop with one of the other two.

I've used a badger 200 single action for years. I couldn't tell what it would cost now. I'm looking to up grade to a double action soon and it will be a badger.
My first airbrush was an old badger 200, bought second hand. I very quickly bought a newer model and a compressor.
Every airbrush mentioned here is good but it takes time to get good at airbrushing. This is the right place to learn but you need patiance and above all practice. Which ever one you choose you will get to like. Maybe you can go to astore that will let you try some out, or at least handle them so you will at least know which ones feel right. I've done this to help me decide which brush I would like next, the latest generation badger airbrushes are superb but probably out of your budget? Wouldn't hurt to take a look though. :-)
Any airbrush can give you a superior finish to hand brushing
